Terra + Gravity

Foundation complete.

Descriptor: Complete professional 2.2 monitoring system. Three-way Terra monitors with dedicated Gravity subwoofers, unified through integrated rear panel amplification and coordinated DSP calibration. Linear to 30Hz (F1 at 30Hz, F6 at 20Hz), 112dB @ 1kHz (106dB @ 50Hz) – full-range accuracy from a seamlessly integrated system.

Extended low-frequency authority

Terra’s 40Hz linear (F1 at 40Hz, F6 at 30Hz) becomes 30Hz linear (F1 at 30Hz, F6 at 20Hz) – full-range professional monitoring with the foundation film, game, and immersive audio work demands.

TECHNICAL FOUNDATION

Terra + Gravity represents a complete 2.2 monitoring system designed from the outset to work as one. The passive subwoofer architecture, integrated rear panel amplification, and unified DSP calibration eliminate the compromises typical of adding subwoofers to existing monitors. This isn’t retrofitting bass extension – it’s a purpose-built system operating with the same phase coherence and accuracy standards across the entire frequency range.

Integrated Amplification Architecture

Gravity’s passive design is powered directly from Terra’s rear panel amplification. No external amplifiers, no separate power management, no level matching between independent systems. Terra’s Hypex NcoreX amplification drives both the main monitors and Gravity subwoofers from a single control point.

This integrated approach means the entire system shares the same signal path, the same conversion quality, and the same noise floor. What you hear from 20Hz to 30kHz comes through the same electronics architecture – Terra’s amplification simply extends to drive the additional passive drivers.

Unified DSP Calibration

Terra’s Peregrine DSP handles crossover integration, time alignment, and system calibration for the complete four-driver 2.2 configuration. The digital crossover at 80Hz between Terra and Gravity maintains zero-phase LR4 characteristics – no phase misalignment, no time-domain smearing at the integration point.

Because everything is controlled by Terra’s DSP, there’s no bass management processor to configure, no separate subwoofer controls to adjust, no phase alignment guesswork. The system operates as a unified whole, not separate components sharing a room.

Users have control over delay compensation and subwoofer gain trim for placement flexibility. Gravity can operate either as an integrated extension of Terra or accept discrete LFE input depending on application needs.

System updates can be applied over-the-air as we refine our calibration processes – the complete Terra + Gravity system improves over time.

Professional 2.2 Configuration

Using a pair of subwoofers rather than a single .1 configuration maintains stereo bass information and minimizes room mode excitation. Gravity’s compact form factor allows near-field placement alongside Terra, keeping the entire system within the listening triangle for optimal phase coherence.

This 2.2 architecture delivers the technical advantages professional facilities depend on, in a footprint that fits project studios and home setups. Full-range accuracy without requiring large spaces or extensive room treatment.

TESTIMONIALS

It’s the confidence I get from finally being able to trust my own taste that makes these speakers great. Music is a way composers, engineers, and most importantly listeners communicate and it’s done in such a personal way, the most valuable thing you can do for yourself and your audience is to communicate with conviction. Quasars give me that power.

Didn’t realize what I have been missing! After multiple mixes, Pulsars boosted my confidence, I was cranking them out so much faster. It was making mixing so much fun. I submitted some mixes I re-did with Pulsars, and clients were blown away by the differences. I will forever be a proud owner of these.

Joshua Young

Studio Owner, Engineer
If you’re struggling with translation, this will end that battle. The sound staging is insanely hyper accurate. What you hear on these monitors, you will hear on literally any system.

Ryan Harvey

Engineer, Producer
I can hear exactly what I need to do to improve my sound… Quasars are a major tool that help me accomplish this. They are the best thing I’ve bought for my studio in a decade.

Justin Melland

Film Composer
Quasars have become my most valued and crucial piece of equipment. They give me total confidence in knowing how tracking and mixing sessions will translate outside of the room… They provide clarity, transparency, and inspiration.

James Meslin

Recording Engineer, Mixer, Producer
The mid tweet coaxial on these monitors presents a midrange detail like I’ve never heard before. These speakers are far from fatiguing while presenting a pristine midrange and transient response. I’m truly over the moon.

ALEX E

Music Producer, Mixing Engineer
Over the years, I have worked with a number of very good speakers in many studios but the Ex Machina Pulsar takes monitoring to another level. These are truthful tools that you can definitely rely on.

Patrick Derivaz

Bass Player, Composer, Engineer, Producer
Everything translated well and felt balanced, the low end was amazing, I don’t need a sub anymore ! I find that I can work at low volume and hear every detail and also listen loud without fatiguing… The stereo image and center are really defined, I honestly can’t find anything that I don’t like.

Manon Grandjean

Recording, Mixing, Mastering Engineer
The Pulsars have been truly game changing for me. They are super accurate, revealing, and the transient detail is incredible which has made the mixing process much more efficient and allowed for more confident decision making. I couldn’t be more happy with them.
