I owned the Quasar MkI for almost 2 years and have sworn by them ever since, first thing I did was throw my second pair of referencing monitors in the ocean.
When I got the MkII upgrade, I wasn’t sure how there could be an improvement to what I thought was already perfect, but they did it.
They made the tightest phantom center I’ve ever heard even tighter, and the bass extension goes lower without a trace of woofing or distortion. A lot of speaker brands boast about the tight low end or clarity of their speakers, but they don’t mention that a bad mix played through their speakers may still have those great qualities even though the mixes they’re reproducing simply don’t.
When Ex Machinas speak to you they tell you very blatantly what your song needs and when you correctly manipulate your mix they reward you by accurately reproducing what you’ve been chasing in your head all along. It’s the confidence I get from finally being able to trust my own taste that makes these speakers great.
Music is a way composers, engineers, and most importantly listeners communicate and it’s done in such a personal way, the most valuable thing you can do for yourself and your audience is to communicate with conviction. Quasars give me that power.
